A Cold Autumns Day
A poem I wrote in the autumn of 2006.
I stood outside on a cold still morning
mesmerized by the silent fall of leaves
coming down all around me
like a gentle fall of snow
Red, orange, and yellow they fell
covering the last green grass
showing mother natures artistry
as she prepares for winter
lost in the spell of the moment
I forget the bitter cold that surrounds me
reflecting on the memories
of autumns from times past
some bitter, some sweet
but each a joy in its own way
I move now to a different tune
renewed in the joy of just being
